What a Real Psychiatric Consultation Looks Like
A behavioral health consultation at Anchor Restorative Medicine isn't a checklist. It's a conversation — one where your provider takes time to understand how you're feeling, what you've tried, what hasn't worked, and what kind of support will actually make a difference in your life.
What our behavioral health consultations include:
Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and symptom assessment
Review of mental health history, prior diagnoses, and treatment history
Evaluation for anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and PTSD
Medication review and management recommendations
Coordination with primary care for integrated treatment when needed
Referrals to therapy or specialist psychiatric care when appropriate

Who Should Schedule a Behavioral Health Consultation?
A behavioral health consultation is the right starting point if you're experiencing mental health symptoms and haven't yet been evaluated — or if you've been managing your mental health without clinical support and want a more structured approach.
This is a good fit if you:
Are experiencing persistent anxiety, low mood, mood swings, or difficulty concentrating
Have been managing symptoms on your own without a formal diagnosis
Want a clinical evaluation before starting or changing medication
Are an existing patient whose mental health has changed and needs reassessment
Are a parent seeking evaluation for a teenager (13 and older)
*We specialize in psychiatric evaluation and medication management — not long-term talk therapy. If ongoing counseling is part of your needs, we're happy to provide referrals to qualified therapists.
Process Overview
How a Behavioral Health Consultation Works
1. Initial Intake
Before your appointment, you'll complete a brief mental health history form. This helps your provider come prepared and makes the most of your time together.
2. Psychiatric Evaluation
Your provider conducts a structured clinical interview — reviewing your symptoms, history, current stressors, and treatment goals. This is a conversation, not a test.
3. Diagnosis & Recommendations
Based on your evaluation, your provider will share findings, discuss any diagnoses, and outline a recommended treatment plan — which may include medication, referrals, or lifestyle recommendations.
4. Follow-Up & Ongoing Care
If medication is prescribed, we schedule a follow-up to monitor your response and adjust as needed. Mental health care is not a one-visit fix — we stay involved.
