How Shockwave Therapy Works

1. Consultation & Assessment

Your provider evaluates your condition, reviews imaging or prior treatment history, and determines whether EMTT, focal shockwave, or a combination is the right approach.

2. Treatment Session

The targeted device is applied to the treatment area. EMTT uses electromagnetic pulses; focal shockwave delivers acoustic pressure waves to the specific tissue. Sessions typically last 15–30 minutes.

3. Series Protocol

Most protocols involve 2 sessions per week for 4–10 weeks, depending on the condition and your response. Many patients notice improvement within the first 3–5 sessions.

4. Monitoring & Combination Therapy

Your provider tracks your progress and may recommend combining shockwave therapy with PRP injections for patients with more complex or chronic conditions.
