Shockwave Therapy
EMTT (Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy) and focal shockwave therapy — non-invasive treatments that stimulate tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and restore function for joints, tendons, and chronic pain.

EMTT & focal shockwave therapy

Protocol
2× weekly for 4-10 weeks
Benefits
Non-Invasive. Clinically Targeted. Genuinely Effective.
Shockwave therapy uses acoustic or electromagnetic energy to stimulate the body's natural repair mechanisms in targeted tissues. Rather than masking pain or inflammation, it addresses the underlying tissue damage that's driving the problem — triggering cellular regeneration, improving circulation, and breaking down scar tissue without surgery or downtime.
What shockwave therapy can address:
Chronic joint pain — knees, shoulders, hips, elbows, wrists
Tendon injuries and tendinopathy (Achilles, rotator cuff, patellar)
Plantar fasciitis and heel pain
Chronic inflammation in soft tissue
Sports injuries and repetitive strain
Post-surgical recovery support
Complementary treatment alongside PRP for enhanced tissue repair
Ideal Candidate
Is Shockwave Therapy Right for You?
Shockwave therapy is ideal for patients with chronic musculoskeletal conditions who want to avoid — or are not candidates for — surgery, or who have not found adequate relief from conventional treatments like steroid injections or physical therapy.
You may be a strong candidate if you:
Have chronic joint or tendon pain lasting more than 3 months
Have tried steroid injections or physical therapy without lasting relief
Want a non-invasive, non-surgical option before considering procedures
Are recovering from a sports injury or repetitive strain
Want to combine shockwave therapy with PRP for synergistic tissue repair
*Shockwave therapy is not appropriate for patients with active infection, blood clotting disorders, or certain other conditions. Your provider will screen you at your consultation.
Process Overview
How Shockwave Therapy Works
1. Consultation & Assessment
Your provider evaluates your condition, reviews imaging or prior treatment history, and determines whether EMTT, focal shockwave, or a combination is the right approach.
2. Treatment Session
The targeted device is applied to the treatment area. EMTT uses electromagnetic pulses; focal shockwave delivers acoustic pressure waves to the specific tissue. Sessions typically last 15–30 minutes.
3. Series Protocol
Most protocols involve 2 sessions per week for 4–10 weeks, depending on the condition and your response. Many patients notice improvement within the first 3–5 sessions.
4. Monitoring & Combination Therapy
Your provider tracks your progress and may recommend combining shockwave therapy with PRP injections for patients with more complex or chronic conditions.
